Where the hell have you BEEN!?!

I was getting sick of listening to puny-ass bullshit.
Thank FSM you finally decided to get your ass back on here and treat us to some metalz.
This is some juicy shit. I would have mixed it a little different, but it sounds badass as-is.
Fucking metal.

Creeping-Dan responds:

Ive been in the land of lazy. I have 8 new songs...its just getting round to recording them haha.

cheers mate!

Dog cherry?

More like dog shit.

Creek responds:

lol i kno it sucks huh..

Hell yeah!

I could try vox, I'm not sure how well I can pull them off though.
Crucified would probably do better, but I haven't seen him around recently.
Either way, this is an excellent start. Can't wait for the finished one.

Sonofkirk responds:

I'm sure you could do a great job, though I asked Crucified before. But a collab with you and crucified would be awesome. Thanks for the review \m/

Damn, this got 0-bashed to hell.

I put up a quickie drum track, tell me what you think.

Metal!

MindOverMatt responds:

I know right? It's no big deal as I just wanted dudes like yourself to hear it and maybe work with it. Thanks man,
Matt

Lawl at MindoverMatt...

I recorded a band that did that. It annoyed the fuck out of me.
I had my back turned, playing with the levels, trying to get it kinda balanced out, and I say 'How's that sounding, guys?' and turn around and there's one guy standing there, and he says 'Um, I think they went to smoke.'
I wanted to punch a bitch. Especially since I was doing it for free, as a favor to my stepbrother.
Anyways, as for the song...
Not bad. I kinda like it. Not like you can change anything anyway, so you get a 10 and 5.
Keep up the metal, bro.

Eternalreich responds:

yeah it was a little frustrating but it was a home recording enviornment. and he cut us a deal so we did are best.

Holy crap this is awesome.

The only thing I don't like is the slightly-loud snare, and the bass isn't quite high enough in the mix.
Besides those drum issues (drums are hard to mix, so I feel your pain), this track is amazing.
Really rippin' guitar tone, great leads... truly an epic track of metal proportions.
Pure awesomeness.
4.31 / 5.00 (+ 0.0020)

Dimoria responds:

Glad you like it. Check my GeneralRock track Test 4 out for an updated sound of my drums. Or any of the newer ones. Cheers.

Awesomely badass.

Killer, dude.
All I can think of is the tone being a bit muddy. With a little more (and by a little, I mean not much at all) presence, the riffs would stand out a bit more, but not drown out the awesome synth parts.
The riffs themselves are awesome. I like the one that starts around :17, with the pulloffs.
Fucking sweet, bro.

Eternalreich responds:

Yeah i agree and i think when i mixed it down it was a shitty quality file er something. Metal hails and those aren't pull-offs they are just separtate strings.

Enough with the clashes already!

We get it. Minor second clashes are metal.
But that alone doesn't make a song good. And sadly, this one needs less clash and more consonance before I'll enjoy it.
I think if you kept one of the clash riffs, and replaced the rest with some other form of metal riff (palm-muting, trem picking, downtempo chugging, etc.) then you'd have a winner.
But too much of a good thing can be a very bad thing, and I think this song is a perfect example of that.
I did listen to some of your other stuff, and it's pretty friggin awesome. Just not this one.

PenguinBomb responds:

I actually used diminished 5th clashes a lot more :D

And hence, I said I expected terrible reception, because NG is possibly the worst audience for this type of music. I just went with the whole "freaking metal" thing because I didn't think anyone on this site would be a know/care if I likened this song to say Dillinger Escape Plan, or Ion Dissonance....

Ball-kicking good!

I love this shit, man.
It's hard to find a good bass player who really knows how to utilize the fretboard to the maximum of it's potential.
I think this bass line would actually sound best under some straight power chords, instead of the guitar following everything you're doing. At least some of the time, anyway.
You use some really weird time signatures, which is something I really respect, because I've never been able to properly use anything other than 3/4 and 4/4.
I loved the chorus-y part around 2:10. Cool sounding, really thick. Good shit.
What's the tempo? Just curious, because I've never programmed drums for anything like this.
Anyway, awesome shit, bro. Can't wait to hear the rest.

MindOverMatt responds:

Thanks bro! Yeah, I actually got to go visit Eternalreich and we got a lot done. The guitars are gonna be weird, evil little serpents intertwining with the bass line. The time sigs are (don't laugh) 360bpms for the first half, and 240 for the second. While I was down with Eternal, we did get drums to it. But, still go ahead with yours. I promise I won't waste your time. Hopefully, we'll have a good deal of material to pick and choose from, creating a supreme hymn of Death! Also, some vox are gonna be needed. Interested? Once again, thanks Twilight for being a Metal Bad Ass, and for the awesome contributions and suggestions. Metal my brother
Matt

This one's... kind of odd.

It's strange, but in a not-bad way.
There's a very odd juxtaposition between the heavy guitar, and the very major-scale notes at the beginning.
That changes toward the end though, and I like the sound toward the end the best.

newskies responds:

haha thanks, I'm always trying to be different. Be sure to check out the full version with vocals by Bad-Man-Incorporated!
edit: lolz by the way I recently checked your stuff out! quite cool!

I'm a dude. I play guitar. I am metal to the core. Don't try to over-metal me. You will be annihilated.
